René van Zyl was born on 5 October 1994 In Kimberley, Northern Cape. Her love for

music started at the very young age of 3 years of age. She and her twin sister (Karien)

just loved to sing children's songs and her parents soon realised her natural attunement

for music and helped her to develope her talent at the local Music Academy.

Throughout her school career she focussed on music theory as well as to master

numerous instruments among others: piano, panpipes, clarinet, guitar and even

xylophone, but her favourite instrument has always been her voice. At the age of

7 she already enrolled in the Northern Cape Arts Festival and was not ashamed to

sing in front of hundreds of people. She currently performs locally and nationally

and has already shared the stage with some of the country's most leading and famous artists.

René and a composer, Warren Elliot, made it their task to fulltime commit themselfs to compose, arrange and record René's debut album, "Onvoorwaardelik", which will be released in cooperation with Southern Buzz Studios, Cape Town.

It is focussed on a very important lesson in life with the song "Hoekom" and real gaiety in songs like "Baby Blue", "Elke Dag", and "Hoekom Voel Ek Anders". More tracks are: Verdrink my met jou Liefde, Love is, My only Angel and a well known cover  "Islands in the Stream"
